Imtech to provide Poland's most energy-efficient Green Building with technical solutions

Growth target for Eastern Europe set at 500 million euro by 2015

Gouda - Imtech (technical services provider in Europe) announces a contract with Capital Park Group for a project to realise Poland's most energy-efficient Green Building: Eurocentrum, an office building covering 65,000 m² in the centre of Warsaw. This sustainably designed building will be the first building in Poland to receive a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold certificate. LEED, developed by the U.S. Green Building Council, sets the standards for realising environmentally designed office buildings. The order is valued at more than 33 million euro.

According to Imtech CEO René van der Bruggen, Imtech has held a strong position in Poland for several years. 'Imtech Polska was initially founded as the result of a collaborative effort with German customers who had operations in Poland. Imtech later expanded considerably in collaboration with Polish clients and investors. In Poland, Imtech can offer a complete line of technical services, including high-tech solutions in energy technology. As elsewhere, the demand for energy efficiency is also growing rapidly in Poland, and Imtech is providing an excellent response to this demand. Realising all the green technical solutions for Eurocentrum - the most energy-efficient Green Building in Poland and recipient of a LEED Gold certificate - is another fine reference.'

The most energy-efficient Green Building in Poland
Energy efficiency is taking on an increasingly higher priority in Poland. Imtech's specific competencies make it possible to respond effectively to this situation; due in part to Imtech's unique expertise in the field of energy, the company has been contracted to provide all the technical solutions for the Eurocentrum office building. This modern building is situated in the heart of Warsaw between the busy Artura Zawiszy Square and the city's western railway station. A LEED BREEAM rating (the objective LEED BREEAM classification for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design developed by the U.S. Green Building Council) of approximately 70% makes this building the most energy-efficient office building in Poland. When compared to a conventional building, the Eurocentrum Green Building is almost 50% more energy-efficient and has almost half the CO2 emissions.

Green technology
The Eurocentrum Green Building will provide 65,000 m² of modern office space with a high level of comfort (more than 50 m³ of fresh air per person per hour per 10 m²). It will have 18 floors, three of which will be dedicated to an underground parking facility designed for 112 cars. (More than 50 cars can also be accommodated in front of the building.) The building will include three large atriums covering a total area of 1500 m² and tall enough to accommodate mature trees. These will also be visible from outside and serve as a landmark. The building will be brimming with green technical solutions including decentralised energy generation, thermal energy storage, optimum ventilation, heat recovery of more than 90%, specific air and climate solutions that provide an optimum distribution of heat and energy, energy-efficient building automation, the use of rainwater, an efficient water distribution system, energy-efficient lighting, movement sensors, a special heating system in the façade, sustainable ICT infrastructure, etc. Use will also be made of a sustainable construction process, special measures will be taken to prevent air pollution during construction, and the majority of the materials used can be recycled.

Imtech: the most energy-efficient technical services provider in Poland
Imtech distinguishes itself on the Polish market for technical services by means of its green range of services. The demand for green, energy-efficient solutions is mushrooming. In addition to projects involving renovating existing complexes and making them more sustainable, the number of new-build projects requiring green solutions is increasing. Imtech is involved in both segments. In addition to countless new-build projects, Imtech has recently been involved in the sustainable renovation of the technological updating of the Katowice railway station.

Continued growth in Eastern Europe with a growth target of approx. 500 million euro by 2015
Imtech has set a strategic target of 8 billion euro in revenue by 2015 ((2010 revenue: 4.5 billion euro). Part of this growth will be generated in Eastern Europe. In addition to rapid growth in Poland, Imtech also expects continuing growth in Hungary, Russia and Romania. The company's growth target for Eastern Europe - approx. 500 million euro by 2015 - will be reached by a combination of continuing organic growth and acquisitions.
